BURMA

(Myanmar)

Voyage-photos en Birmanie pendant 2 semaines en Février 2019 avec Ph. Body (Avec un photographe) comme guide-photographe et 7 autres photographes . Découverte d’un très beau pays (paysages, temples,…) et surtout de ses habitants.

Myanmar

Myanmar is the official name of this country, although the name Burma is still often used by the international community.
During this trip, I visited the regions of Yangon (Rangon), Mandalay, Bagan, Inle Lake, Mawlamyne and Hpa-an.
Like a photo-reportage, I discovered some of the most beautiful sites in Southeast Asia and especially the friendliness of the Burmese.
To appreciate this country, you have to take your time, think outside the box, know how to leave your camera at rest and ... avoid "photographic voyeurism" (practiced by many tourists)

Religion

The Burmese are over 85% Buddhist. Religious practice, respectful but often joyful, is part of everyday life. I was impressed by the wealth
and the number of temples, pagodas, monasteries, Buddhas, stupas ...
The monks and nuns are numerous and live among the population. Talking with a monk is a great moment.

Landscapes

Burma is a country with a great variety of landscapes.
Whether you are north or south, by the sea or a river,
in the countryside or on Inle Lake etc. it is impossible to resist
to the beauty of the landscape, especially when the “light” is there.
Full of eyes and also full of camera (hopefully).

The Burmese

The Burmese are very welcoming, but you have to know how to remain humble and respect them. In their country, apparent modernism (cell phones, etc.)
rubs shoulders with a certain form of poverty. Their living conditions may seem difficult to us, but they know how to be happy.
I met people who were smiling, ready to chat and… even show their homes.
Do not hesitate, because these moments will remain unforgettable.
