Photo-fiction
Proposé par la bibliothèque des Capucins à Rouen et animé par Pierre Olingue, photographe rouennais, cet atelier photo-fiction avait pour objet de nous faire découvrir une autre approche de la photographie.
The principle and the objective
The workshop took place in the first half of 2019 with the aim of exhibiting the photos produced at the Capucins library from the beginning of June to the end of September. The instruction was, from words contained in a book title or a sentence or or a text, to use his imagination and creativity to try to translate these words into photographic images.
To simplify, take words or text through all the front doors, dissect them, phosphor ... to translate what we have seen or read!
My idea
I had just finished reading a "rural black thriller" which I really liked. His title "In Memory of Fred" by Clayton Lindemuth. The last sentence of the book had stuck in my memory: "In the heart of darkness, I turn back, a path that my steps have marked over the past twenty years".
In summary, this book tells the story of a guy, at his time manufacturer of gnole (recognized quality) who decides to avenge his dog, kidnapped and used for dog fights, by exterminating the author of the kidnapping, the organizers and the spectators of this type of combat. A little sluggish, but a thriller that reads in one go.
Rantings
The analysis of words, in connection with the emotions felt while reading this book, brought me to (some examples):
-darkness: tunnel with light at the end, ...
-path: muddy path, godillots, ...
-pas: footprint in the ground or snow with forward and / or backward effect
-years: list, decreasing numbers, old, ...
Et mon imagination me faisait penser (en vrac) à : chemin, vieux mur, temps passé, sagesse, chaussures de randonnées, appareil photo ancien, sac à dos, vieux journal et vieilles pierres.
