Sell Prints

I have no special reason to want to sell prints of my photographs. Yet the question comes up regularly:
Why don't you sell your photos?
In fact, I often give them away. I send the photo in digital format, free to the recipient to print it or not.

Thoughts:

The first one : Nothing prevents me from selling prints of my photographs, if I follow certain legal and tax rules.
In particular, I can refer to Article 98 A of the C.G.I.
Extract: "II: The following works are considered as a work of art:
... 7 ° Photographs taken by the artist, printed by him or under his control, signed and numbered in the limit of thirty copies, all formats and media combined. "

The second : I am an amateur photographer and I must not compete with professional photographers. My potential sales must remain occasional. If the situation changed (we can dream !!), I should change my status.

The third :
My images may be of interest but I would especially like those who wish to acquire my images to be able to really benefit from them. It is therefore necessary to provide them with a qualitative print (impression) on a quality support, the only way to enhance an image.

The fourth :
It has not occurred to me to make a profit or have additional income by selling my images. Hence the idea of selling my images at an affordable price (covering production costs) and donating the net income to an association declared to be of public utility.

Proposal:

I want my photographs to be showcased so that they can be appreciated. Looking at a photo on a PC, smartphone screen, ... has nothing to do with a photo printed on beautiful paper and fixed on a support that enhances it.

Each image will be printed in a limited number, signed and delivered with its certificate of authenticity.

The images will be printed in "Digigraphie" quality (1). They will have the same qualities (print, paper, inks, durability over time) as a digigraphie, except the Digigraphie imprint and the registration on the didgigraphie.com site. This will make it possible to offer a more attractive price.

To show the images offered for sale and make ordering easier, I have implemented a simple and complete sales module (ECWID) on the site. It has the qualities and functions necessary to make your choice and order easily and safely.

(1) Digigraphy is a process for printing reproductions of works of art, produced digitally on large-format inkjet printers, labeled by the Japanese printer manufacturer Epson.

In summary :

My site now has a page dedicated to the sale of photographs.
Seules 9 images seront présentées à la fois, mais je les changerai régulièrement. Si vous souhaitez acquérir une autre phtographie présente sur le site,  contactez moi et je vous dirai si elle est disponible.

To secure transactions, I added " Terms of Sales  »which specify my commitments and those of the buyers. In particular, I sell photographic prints and not the rights to my photographs, all for private use.

To make the prints, I call on a specialized laboratory recognized for its know-how, but I keep full control over the production.

Les formats proposés sont volontairement limités, mais il est possible d’en choisir d’autres sur simple demande de l’acheteur après vérification de la faisabilité auprès du laboratoire.
