Faroe Islands
(2020)
Travel-photo internship with 2 other photographers. I do not mention the name of the organizing structure, because I was not satisfied with the service of the photographer guide.
This trip felt like a sightseeing tour. Few real photo spots. Finally, my first objective was to see puffins (on the island of Mykines), and unfortunately that was not possible. The explanation given to justify this lack did not convince me.
1560 km north of Paris.
The Faroe Islands are located in the North Atlantic Ocean between Norway and Iceland. Travel from one island to another is done via bridges, underwater tunnels or using ferries.
The Faroe Islands are attached to Denmark, but enjoy a great deal of autonomy.
Not cold, but wet
The weather is that of the North Atlantic. It is not really cold, however it rains a lot (about 360 days a year) and visibility is often reduced. You have to wait for cloud thinnings. Very contrasting lights, so frequent use of HDR.
